History of Gorilla Tourism in Rwanda

In the early 1990s, gorilla tourism was Rwanda’s biggest source of foreign income. People from around the world came to see the gorillas and explore Volcanoes National Park. However, the industry suffered greatly during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, when all tourism visits and activities were halted.
