Day River Nile - Jinja town - Mbale
After an early morning breakfast, proceed to Jinja driving past vast sugarcane and tea plantations of Lugazi sprawling over hills creating such a nice green sight. If time allows, you could make a stopover for some picture moments. Explore Mabira Forest Reserve that hosts a number of monkeys, forest birds, butterflies, big trees, and flowers. Take a one hour nature walk in this ancient African forest for a unique African jungle experience. Proceed to the Source of the Nile and enjoy the spectacular view of River Nile and Lake Victoria, savor the awesome scenery of birds darting off the water, local fishermen spreading their nets, and the green vegetation on small islands and the mainland, and enjoy the cool breeze, sweet scent from plants and the sound of the gurgling waters and singing birds. After the magical experience at the Source of the Nile, drive to Mbale. In the evening arrive in Mbale and Sipi for dinner and overnight, Lacam Lodge or similar. Full Board
Day2 Sipi Falls – Nyero - Soroti
Early morning you go for the trekking through the Sipi Falls from Mount Elgon. The vegetation is superb with banana and coffee plantations and view of the Karamoja valley. The Sipi river creates about four sets of incredible waterfalls as it descends down the valley. Lunch. In the afternoon visit Nyero Rock Paintings and shelter near Kumi. Dinner and overnight in Soroti at Soroti Hotel or similar. Full Board
Day Karamoja - Moroto
After breakfast drive through Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve and Bokora Wildlife Reserve as you enter Karamoja valley. Stop overs will be made for birding and to see Napak rock. Proceed with packed lunch up to Moroto, the capital town of Karamoja. The drive might take about 7 hours according to road conditions. Dinner and overnight at Kara-Tunga guesthouse or similar. Day Karamoja - Moroto
After breakfast, embark for a scenic nature walk through the valley of Mt Moroto, the highest mountain of Karamoja. Visit traditionally built homesteads of the Tepes who are believed to be the original inhabitants of the Karamoja plains. Continue and visit the Museum that presents authentic kejong cultural practices. After the lunch ,you will set journey for a scenic drive through the arid hills bordering Kenya’s rift valley. As the landscape changes, you will notice that the people have also adapted to the dry climate. Here the Karamojong tribe are living from gold mining and cattle keeping. Make a stopover at a gold mining family where they will share the craft of mining and learn how gold mining is done. Dinner and overnight at Kara-Tunga guesthouse or similar. Full Board
Day 5th Karamoja – Matheniko
After breakfast, drive to the communities who inhabit the mountains surrounding Moroto. You will have a direct experience of the daily life in Karamoja. Among the Karamojong communities, the Matheniko are cattle keepers and nomadic. Lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon visit the communities of the Matheniko of the plains, who no longer have cattle and depend on farming. Visit the typical homestead or “manyatta” to view the style of life. The Matheniko also can perform their traditional dances as they dress on their traditional clothes. Dinner and overnight at Kara-Tunga guesthouse or similar. Full Board
Day Karamoja – Kotido - Kidepo
After breakfast, leave Moroto to Kotido passing through the areas of herdsmen with their cattle. Near Kotido are found the Jie villages, a small Karamojong ethnic tribe. Very interesting are the traditional Jie dancers. The Jie are well recognized by the marks in their faces according to their culture. It is possible to take photographs of this unique experience. Proceed to Kidepo Valley National Park by evening, dinner and overnight at UWA Bandas. Full Board
Day 7 Karamoja – Kidepo – Dodoth - Ik
After breakfast drive to the lowland plains of Morungole to encounter the Dodoth communities. Pastoralists in the tradition, the Dodoth are now developing farming activities. We will ascend the mountains to see the remaining communities of the IK. The IK live on sorghum and millet production and bee culture. Their elders are known for reaching a very old age of even 100 years. On this day, you will take a bee keeping tour in IK land and witness how honey is collected traditionally and its significance in their livelihood. Full board and overnight at UWA Bandas. Full Board
Day 8th– Kitgum and Kampala
After your breakfast, set off to explore a traditional Karamojong village-Ere. On this day, the inhabitants will take you through their daily life. You may also engage in their day today activities such as making art pieces, making local brew, harvesting, preparing local foods and also learning how to practice with a spear and traditional friendly wrestling. As guests are always welcomed with open arms, it will be inescapable to participate in a variety of traditional dances. Full board and overnight at UWA Bandas. Full Board
Day 9th Kidepo Valley National Park
After breakfast go for photographic game drives along the trails of the national park. Especially, expect to explore the region of the river Narus valley. Kidepo contains one of the most exciting faunas of any Ugandan parks, with over 80 species of mammals several of which restricted only to Kidepo, like cheetah, striped hyena and caracal. The bird list boasts over 465 species. Full board and overnight at UWA Bandas. Full Board
Day 10th Kitgum and Kampala-Entebbe
After an early morning breakfast drive back to kampala. En route Kitugum-Mbale-Kampala-Entebbe. Dinner and overnight at Uganda Wildlife Education center banda
Day 11: Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary
After breakfast, you will be picked up and transferred to entebbe to board the boat to Ngamba Island for a day trip. Ngamba Island is located 23 km offshore from Entebbe. In 1998 it became Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary under Jane Goodall Foundation with the objective to provide a safe haven for orphaned chimpanzees that have been rescued by the Uganda Wildlife Authority from poachers or traders, with no chance of survival back to the wild. The day trip allows you to see the island and to view the feeding of the chimpanzees. In the afternoon drive to Kampala, for dinner and overnight at Uganda Wildlife Education center banda
Day 12th Transfer from Kampala to Budongo Forest
After breakfast your adventure proceeds by driving northwest towards Masindi to Budongo Forest. You will stop over for lunch at Kabalega diner, your journey continues to Budongo Forest in Kaniyo-Pabidi, the eco-tourist site where it is possible to organize chimpanzee trekking activities. Dinner and overnight in Budongo Eco-Lodge. Full Board
Day 13th: Chimpanzee trekking in Budongo Forest-Kibale Forest national Park
After breakfast, enter Budongo forest for the chimpanzee trekking. Budongo hosts a population of about 600 chimpanzees and other primates, such as black and white colobus monkey, red-tailed monkey, blue monkey, vervet monkey and baboons. After lunch at Budongo, drive to Kibale forest national park which is known as the primate capital of the world!! Check in at the lodge in the evening. Day 14th.Kibale Forest for primates and chimpanzee tracking-Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, prepare for the nature walk in Kibale National Park for experiencing the rain tropical forest, birding and especially to encounter the chimpanzees in their natural environment. Kibale national park with its 766 sq km of rain tropical forest contains the highest primate’s density in the world. Among the species which you can see include black and white colobus, red tailed monkey and vervet monkey. Moreover, 325 species of birds are recorded. In the afternoon proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park, which lies between Lake George on the East, Lake Edward on the West and the Rwenzori Mountains on the North. Day 15th: Queen Elizabeth – Mgahinga national park
After breakfast, drive to Kalinzu forest at the outskirts of Queen Elizabeth national park top track chimps. This awesome destination has a population of about 50 chimpanzees and a diversity of other primates and endangered bird species. Proceed to Mgahinga national park and explore this amazing virgin tropical rain forest. Dinner and overnight at Amajambere Iwacu Community camp
Day 16th. Batwa trail in Mgahinga National Park
After breakfast, you will continue with the circuit to visit the superb community of Batwa. Experience the ways of the ancient Batwa People who live in these forests and explore their ancient culture. Dinner and overnight at Amajambere Iwacu Community camp
Day 17th. : Sabinyo gorge walk-Transfer from Bunyonyi to Kampala via Mbarara
After breakfast, take a walk to the gorge. This provides a good birding opportunities like Rwenzori Turaco among other beautiful species. The trail transcends different vegetation zones and giving vivid chances of experiencing and exploring calderason top of Gisozi hill. Look out for Kisoro and Bunagana town and be captivated by Lake Mutanda. Drive back to Kampala. On your way, you will make a stopover at Lake Bunyonyi to take some photos. Proceed to Igongo cultural centre for lunch. Day 18th Kampala City tour-Entebbe
Have your breakfast, visit the local markets get an insight into the economic aspects of many of the Kampala city dwellers. Visit Owino Market (St. Balikuddembe) which is popular for second-hand clothes. Nakasero Market is popular for fresh farm produce and electronics. Bother markets are located in the center of the central business district. Proceed and visit the historical Amin's torture chamber. The torture chambers of Idi Amin were situated in Lubiri Mengo the palace of the King of the Kingdom of Buganda and are worth visiting while on your safari to Uganda. The primary purpose of this building was to act as an armory for ensuring the better keeping of the gun powder. You will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight
