10 Days 9 nights Mountain Rwenzori Hiking Expedition

You will have your break fast in the morning, and then picked you up from your hotel by our esteemed guide to transfer you to western Uganda. You will have a stopover at the equator for some photographs. You will have lunch from Kasese and head to the plateau of the “mountains of the moon”. Dinner and over night at Hotel margherita

You will wake up early in the morning to Nyakalengija: the trailhead off Fort Portal road, then move to Ibanda to start your 5-6 hour climb into the mountains. This climb will take you through thick Equatorial vegetation before arriving at the Nyabitaba hut 2650 meters in the late evening. It is a five hours ascent to Nyabitaba Hut, passing first through cultivation then through Forest.Dinner and over night at Nyabitaba Hut FB

This is the longest and most exhausting day’s walk; this may take a minimum of seven hours. From Nyabitaba hut the path descends through forest for a short time before it crosses the Bujuku River at the Kurt Schafer Bridge. You will take breakfast, commence on a morning hike through the Kurt Shafer Bridge to marvel at the sparkling Mobuku river conflux. The path is good for the first couple of hours, but it becomes steeper and very rocky as you enter the moorland Zone where heather plants are Prolific. Have Lunch at Nyamileju Hut where there is a little used and rather run-down Hut, as well as a rock shelter. A climb through the open patches, Lobelia, and Heath moss forest before maneuvering a two hours ‘walk to the John Matte hut for an overnight.Dinner and over night at John Matte Hut FB

Retreat early through the giant Lobelias and heath trees. You will move up to the Bigo Bog and a panoramic landscape of Lobelias and gigantic Groundsels. This may take up to five hours, depending on the condition of the two Bigo Bogs, which are often Knee-deep in Mud. On the way to the hut you will pass Lake Bujuku, which has a magnificent setting between mounts molds Stanley, Speke and Baker. Dinner and overnight at Bujuku hut FB

You will leave early morning for the valley with scenic alpine vegetation consisting of huge Groundsels and Lobelia and ascend Mount Victoria and Mount Speke at (4890 meters).Dinner and over night at Elena hut FB

After break fast, you will walk through the gorgeous panorama of the Savoia and Elena glaciers climb further through to the Scott Elliott pass (4372 meters) and proceed through the snow to the Elena hut. Over night and dinner at Elena Hut FB

Early morning you will climb up to the snowy Alexander peak (5092m); and then move onwards to the supreme peak at (5109m), it gives a good panoramic view and hence a great photo opportunities available!. Over night and diner at Kitandara safaris hut FB

After early breakfast, from Kitandara, You will take on the trail that ascends steeply up the headwall, spreading out from the base of Mount Baker and continuing to the south of the mountain to Fresh field Pass. Have a Picnic lunche on your way from the pass; take the long trail passing the rock shelter at Bujongolo.Dinner and over night at Guy Yeoman Hut

You will descend to Nyabitaba and proceed to Ibanda in kasese for resting and relaxation. Dinner and over night at Hotel Margherita
