DAY 1: Arrival and transfer to your hotel
On arrival to Entebbe international airport, you will be welcomed by our company representative who will transfer you to your hotel for relaxation, dinner and overnight at Protea Hotel Entebbe or 2 Friends Beach hotel Entebbe
DAY 2: Kampala-Zziwa Rhino sanctuary (Rhino tracking on foot!)
After breakfast, you will be transferred northward from Kampala to Nakasongola District where Zziwa Rhino sanctuary is located. Check in at Amuka Safari lodge and have a short nature walk. have lunch at the lodge as you prepare for Rhino tracking in the evening. Visitors to the sanctuary are allowed to track the rhinos and see them up close. You can approach the Rhinos on foot. The animals are not that dangerous if you follow instructions. The White Rhinos (the ones at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary) are gentle giants – approaching them on foot poses no danger to you. You will have the guidance and company of a sanctuary ranger who is knowledgeable about the behavior of the rhinos. Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary gives you a rare opportunity to see the Rhinos not from a vehicle but from up close and on foot, you have some great and unusual photo opportunities here as you encounter the White Rhinos of Zziwa. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Amuka Safari lodge.
DAY3: Zziwa Rhino Shoe bill tracking-Balloon Safari in Murchison Falls National park
Start your day with an early drive at to Lugogo swamp in Zziwa Rhino sanctuary for the elusive rare shoe bill tracking. Return to the lodge for your breakfast and later connect to Murchison and check in at your Lodge in the afternoon. Have lunch and later go for an evening game drive in the northern bank of the park. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Lodge or Murchison River Lodge.
DAY 4: Hot air balloon safari and boat cruise on River Nile
Go for an early morning 2 hour hot air balloon safari. For approximately 2 hours, you will float over the savannah of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The pilot will fly at varying altitudes during your flight to give you different perspectives, taking advantage of the wind currents at the varying altitudes. The flight gives passengers great photo opportunities that are different from an ordinary safari on the ground. As you gently drift over the park, you can watch the sun rise as savannah below come to life with birds and animals. Later you will do an afternoon boat safari on the Nile to the bottom of Murchison Falls Travel back to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari lodge or Murchison River Lodge.
DAY 5: Murchison Falls National Park- Kampala (Ndere centre)
After having your breakfast, embark on a road trip to Kampala reaching Ndere centre in the afternoon, have your lunch and relax at the cultural centre. Tour around the centre and see the crafts on display as you eagerly wait for the cultural performance by Ndere troupe in the evening. Please note that the cultural performances are staged on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Dinner and overnight at Ndere centre.
DAY 6: Kampala-Source of the Nile adventure (White water rafting and Bungee jumping)
After having breakfast, depart from Kampala and proceed to Jinja for the most thrilling adventurous activities on the continent. The full day white water rafting begins with a comprehensive briefing and the fitting of lifejackets and helmets. The rafting is done on a 10 kilometer stretch of the Nile River. The first few rapids are low grade (1&2) and give clients a sense of confidence. As the river meanders through beautiful scenery, the rafts are guided into the mighty challenges of the best “grade 5” rapids on the Nile. Eight major rapids are rafted plus lower graded runs to maximize the adrenaline rush of this adventure. Have lunch at the Source of the Nile, dinner and overnight will be had at The Nile Village Resort or Wild Water lodge.
DAY 7: Bungee jumping at Bujjagali-Return to Kampala
After breakfast, prepare for yet another breath taking experiential activity called Nile high bungee jumping. This involves leaping over the sky and touching down to the bottom of River Nile. The team is always readily available for any concern which makes your adventure safe. Relax at the source of the Nile for lunch as it is also advisable to relax after this thrilling activity. Return to Entebbe for an overnight at Protea hotel or 2 friends Beach hotel Entebbe.
DAY 8: Entebbe –Ngamba Island Chimpanzee sanctuary
After breakfast we pick you up from the hotel, you are transferred the meeting point in Entebbe at the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre. You will take (45 minutes to an hour) speed boat ride on Lake Victoria as you cross over to the Ngamba Island. On arrival at the Island, you are given a short introduction and briefing on the sanctuary like why it was established and the back ground as well. The staff is informative, passionate and able to answer all questions. It is obvious that they care about the chimps very much. They can tell you, without thinking, the story of each & every chimp & how they got there & can identify each chimp by name immediately upon sight - and there are almost 50 of them. Get involved in the “care giving” activity at the sanctuary and get close to the Chimpanzees; feed them under the supervision of the staff. Return to Entebbe for dinner and overnight at Protea hotel Entebbe or 2 Friends Beach hotel Entebbe.
DAY 9: Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC)
After breakfast, proceed to UWEC formerly Entebbe zoo for an exciting wildlife encounter called “Behind the scene” The behind the scene tour is a two-hour entertaining and educational adventure that offers special hands on experiences and interesting information about how we take care of our residents (animals and birds). If you sign up for this activity, be assured of a close up and personal encounter with the lions, elephant plus many more wonders you perhaps have not imagined meeting before! Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight at Protea hotel or 2 Friends Beach hotel Entebbe.
DAY 10: Reserved for your departure from Entebbe international airport.
The costs includes: Airport transfers, ground transportation in 4 wheel tourist vehicles with internet access on board that makes you stay connected to family and friends, Binoculars for field guidance, Full board (FB) accommodation excluding drinks- Ground transportation by 4x4 tourist vehicle, Driver/Guide, Gorilla and chimpanzee permits, park or destination entrance fees plus all the activities involved, government taxes and drinking Water on board.
