5 Days Safari takes you to Kidepo Valley National Park lies in the rugged, semi-arid valleys between Uganda’s borders with Sudan and Kenya, some 700km from Kampala. Gazetted as a national park in 1962, it has a profusion of big game and hosts over 77 mammal species as well as around species. One of Africa’s most magnificent wildernesses, with big game favorites Elephants, Giraffes, Elands, hyenas, cheetah, buffaloes, Ostriches, and a variety of birds.
Your arrival will be a warm welcome by our company representative then taken for refreshments and depending on time of arrival, you will check in at your hotel then acclimatize. There is an option of going for a city tour or staying behind to relax while recovering jet lag. Briefing about your safari is also done today and final payments if any. Overnight at your hotel (Biraj Hotel for Budget or Mystil Hotel for luxury - BB).
DAY TWO: DRIVE TOWARDS THE PARK TO SOROTI
Early morning breakfast and set off by 7am to start this long drive. En-route rewards you with various interesting sights and a stop for fresh lunch plus leg stretch, continue to Nyero Rock Paintings, These are historical caves that have ancient paintings believed to be over 2000yrs of age, lots of learning here understanding how people of those times lived life. Proceed to Soroti and check in at hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY THREE: CONTINUE TO KIDEPO NATIONAL PARK
Early morning breakfast, then take on the Rock climbing activity for another exciting view of the city and more caves to explore. Return by 10am, and travel to the famous Kidepo Valley National Park. Check in at Apoka Rest Camp or upgrade to Apoka Lodge
DAY FOUR: FULL DAY IN KIDEPO VALLEY NATIONAL PARK
Early morning game drive and afternoon visit to Karamajong community with lunch and dinner at the lodge/camp.
This day introduces us to the vast plains of Kidepo with lots of opportunities to spot rare wildlife species not found anywhere else in Uganda.
These include but not limited to Cheetahs and Greater Kudu, Lions, Elephants and much more. Actually its perennial waters attract large numbers of Elephants and thousand-strong Buffalo herds especially during the dry season. It’s in here where we can also spot the Ostrich birds if lucky and afternoon we shall spend it on visits to the local communities, the local dances and craft shops here are some stuff to entertain us.
DAY FIVE: TRAVEL BACK TO KAMPALA
Early Breakfast, check out and embark on quite a long – over 10hrs - but worthy journey via Gulu town, Karuma Falls. (At extra fees some clients chatter private choppers direct to Entebbe Airport – we can arrange that)
We definitely have stops for lunch and also at the various interesting sites like the view of the Falls on the Main road but we shall reach Kampala early evening. Drop you off to your Hotel. (Biraj Hotel for Budget or Mystil Hotel for luxury - BB).
